AI assistant in MGX ERP
Say what needs doing. The assistant does the work.
Write to the AI assistant the way you would write to a colleague. It books services, finds parts, writes damage reports and pulls up the numbers straight in MGX ERP. You review and approve, it handles the paperwork.
- What do you need?
- Claude or ChatGPT, which many already have
- What can it do?
- Most of what you do in MGX, with more than 200 tools
- What can it see?
- Only what you yourself are allowed to see
- What does it never do?
- Send to customers, approve or invoice
How it works
No technology to learn.
You use an AI assistant you may already have, such as Claude or ChatGPT. We connect it to MGX ERP, so it can work in your system instead of just answering questions.
Write what needs doing
In the workshop’s own words, on the computer or the phone. “Book Andersson’s boat in for service on Thursday.”
YouDoes the work in MGX
It finds the customer and the boat, creates the work order and picks the parts, just as you would have.
The assistantReview and approve
Quotes and reports become drafts. Whatever goes to the customer, you send yourself.
YouLess time at the computer
What would otherwise be typed in afterwards gets done right away, and right first time.
Result
The connection is built on MCP (Model Context Protocol), an open standard that lets AI assistants use systems. Think of it as a cable between the assistant and MGX.
What you gain
More time in the workshop. Less at the screen.
One sentence instead of ten clicks
Bookings, quotes and reports that take several steps in an ordinary system are done with one sentence.
Fewer mistakes and duplicates
The assistant always looks up existing customers, boats and items before creating anything new.
Answers to a question
How was the month? What is finished but not invoiced? Ask, and the assistant pulls up the numbers.
You have the final say
It only sees what you are allowed to see, saves drafts and never sends anything to the customer.
Examples
One assistant for the whole workshop.
This is what it can look like for different roles. Under each example you can see which tools the assistant uses in MGX.
Andersson is on the phone. How far along are we with his boat?
sok_kund → sok_objekt → arbetsorder
Clock me in on WO-1147 and pick an impeller and two anodes.
stampla_in → plocka_reservdel
Make a quote for service and winter storage for Andersson’s Buster.
sok_objekt → skapa_offert → lagg_till_offertrader
Which boats come out of storage next week, and do we have the parts for their service?
planering → serviceintervall → inkopsbehov
Write the damage report for ABC123 from the photos and split it 70/30 between the insurer and the customer.
uppslag_regnr → skriv_skaderapport → forsakringsfordelning
How did last month go? Compare billed time with clocked time per technician.
verkstadens_nyckeltal → tid_mot_debiterat
Safety
A person takes the last step.
The assistant prepares. You decide.
This is enforced by the system
- Permissions: the assistant only sees and changes what the signed-in user is allowed to.
- Texts and emails to the customer: saved as drafts on the work order. The front desk reads them and presses Send.
- Payment links: created but not sent. A person decides whether and how they go out.
- Deletion and backup: deletion goes through a separate request, and the system keeps backups.
How the assistant works
- Searches first: it looks for existing customers, boats and items before creating new ones, to avoid duplicates.
- Drafts: quotes and damage reports are saved as drafts for review.
- Last step: it does not approve on the customer’s behalf and does not invoice. You do.
Get started
Connected in minutes.
We help you connect when you start with MGX ERP.
Get your MCP address
Every customer has its own instance, and with it its own MCP address. You receive it when the instance is set up.
Add it to your AI
In Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client, add the address as a custom connector.
Sign in with your MGX account
The agent works as the user who signs in and only sees what that user is allowed to see.
Start talking
Write in Swedish using the workshop’s own words. The agent always looks up customers and vehicles before creating new ones, so no duplicates appear.
Questions
What workshops usually wonder about AI.
Do we need to know anything about AI?
No. You write as you would to a colleague. We help connect the assistant when you start.
Do we have to use AI to use MGX?
No. MGX ERP is an ordinary web-based workshop system. The AI assistant is there when you want help with the paperwork.
Does it cost anything extra?
The AI features are included in every plan. The AI inside MGX uses your own AI key, and if you talk to MGX through Claude or ChatGPT you use your own subscription there. We add no markup on either. See pricing →
Can the agent see everything in the system?
No. The agent has the same permissions as the signed-in user and only sees what that user is allowed to see.
For those who want the details
More than 200 tools, and an open API.
Here is a selection of the tools the assistant uses. Tools accept names and numbers, not database IDs: a WO number, a customer number or a plate number is enough. If you want to build your own integrations, there is also a REST API.
